Fort Washington Solar Center Attains
LEED EBOM Certification

The Fort Washington Solar Center was recently awarded LEED for Existing Buildings-Operations & Maintenance Silver certification. The team consisted of the building owner (APF Properties), property management (Cushman & Wakefield), consulting engineer (HPE-LEED), and architect/project administrator L2Partridge. Since purchasing the building in 2007, APF Properties has been committed to making it one of the country’s premier locations for sustainable operations, design and energy efficiency. Significant sustainable achievements for the building include an Energy Star score of 100; a high-performance green cleaning plan; and the installation of a one-megawatt solar array on the roof of the building which produces approximately 18% of the building’s electricity usage. The same team achieved LEED-EBOM certification in 2010 for 1601 Market Street, making it the first high-rise building in center city Philadelphia to achieve EBOM status.
